Let's say (arguendo) Ron Paul is correct in arguing we brought 9/11 on ourselves. American policies led to the jihadis attacking us. We created the jihadis.
However, even if we grant we are culpable for the jihadis' grievances, hatred, and violence against us, I don't see how this implies we should not wage war against the jihadis?
The jihadis are intent on global dominion by Islam. They're funded, they're connected, they're resourced, etc. In short, they have the will and means to carry out their goals. As such, they're an imminent threat to us and our way of life.
Dr. Frankenstein created the Frankenstein monster. But the monster is intent on killing others and the monster is quite willing and able to kill others. Does this therefore mean Dr. Frankenstein is unjustified in stopping the monster he created?
I agree with Paul. Not 100%, but I see his side of things.

Donsands,
ReplyDeleteI hope you realize that the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan precisely because we decided to leave Afghanistan for good after the Soviets were repelled.
Among the indigenous Afghan fighters we supported against the Soviets was Ahmad Shah Masoud, a Tajik fighter. He was anti Taliban in his ideology. Unfortunately his tribes lost in the civil war that occured after the US left Afghanistan when the Soviets withdrew.
People with Ron Paul's views are shortsighted.
You can hope I know that, but I really am not looking at all these other nations so much as I am our Bankrupt nation with my small corporation.
ReplyDeleteIf other nations want to be the way they are: China, Russia, Korea, Canada, Japan, Vietnam, India, etc., then so be it.
I pray the Gospel will reach these nations, and perhaps the leaders of these nations as well.
I pray our nation will turn back to The Declaration of Independence and US Constitution.
You trust a person like Ron Paul who consistently makes false claims to return you to the Constitution?
ReplyDeleteWho do you trust AP K?
