It may have something to do with reverse polarity. It's a kiwi website. Coriolis effect. Everything is backwards What's clockwise here is counterclockwise down there. Driving on the wrong side of the road. Very X-Files.
You sort of alerted people to this with this comment under another thread from a Catholic source --
"“The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”
Is not the name Allah a hold over from either the Eastern Orthodox Church or the Syriac Church of the early years of the Christian era?
The doctrine of who Allah is in Islam is a false god.
But the word "Allah" is still the best word in Arabic language to communicate the Hebrew word "Elohim" in the OT and the Greek word "Theos" in the NT.
It is related to "El" and "Eloha" and "Eloi" - Aramaic, Syriac (Peshitta) (modern Assyrian); so etymologically, it is closer to the ancient Syriac church.
Christians need to think and distinquish between the doctrine and the language/linguistic aspect.
Good missions does involve good Bible translation and Biblical contextualization.
Just to be clear, a lot of the "contextualization" stuff is garbage today, especially the emergent/emerging church type stuff and 'seeker friendly" church movement stuff.
However, there is a biblical and valid kind of contextualization, which involves good bible translation and communication (both verbal and non-verbal and relating to people), incarnational lifestyle and servant-hood and love and patience with unbelievers.
Sorry about that. The flux modulator of my blog became depolarized and the Coriolis effect kicked in, as Steve speculated, making the blog inaccessible to anyone in the northern hemisphere.
I've corrected the problem and everything is back to normal.
Link appears to be broken - is his site down?
ReplyDeleteThe link works for me. When did you last try it?
ReplyDeleteIt's not working for me either. It tries to open a gzip file.
ReplyDeleteIt is in some kind of new application - my computer won't open in unless I have to learn about all the new apps, etc.
ReplyDeleteIs there any way to get it "normal" - some of us don't know what to do and don't have time to do all the new techi stuff.
Also, concerns about viruses come up when I do something unknown like this.
I would like to see it and read it.
It appears his whole web-site is in something called a "gzip" file !
ReplyDeleteUGGHHH !
Why is it not normal like other websites?

Can you summarize or write an article on it or cut and paste the whole thing?

One can always go straight to Dominic's blog.

also look under "Islam" at the sidebar of the Beggar's All site. (Many more articles on issues dealing with Islam and Muslim apologetic issues.)
