I recently heard someone make a point about something from Psalm 46 I hadn't heard before.
After watching this video, it came to me to share it hereon.
Psa 46:1 To the choirmaster. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. A Song. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
The emphasis was placed on considering this phrase in that verse:
...a very present help in trouble."
"in" trouble.
God is with us in our trouble, not just there to be with us "through" the trouble.
This video presentation also gives me more resolve to pray as King David sang this song, praying that these things will replace what is now in some respects:
1Ch 16:31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, "The LORD reigns!"
And so I pray, "Oh God, where darkness is the light in the heavens, so fill the heavens with the Light of Your gladness. "Oh God, where darkness is the light in and on the earth, so fill the earth with the Light of Your rejoicing. "Oh God, where there is no knowledge of the Lord and His Eternal Glory, so fill the minds and hearts of them with the Knowledge that the Lord is Risen, is Ruling and Reigns"! amen
With the Elect, we all have a story!
