I Have A Dream

"If we do not move swiftly to sign [the act] into law, an economy that is already in crisis will be faced with catastrophe. This is not my assessment. This is not Nancy Pelosi's assessment. This is the assessment of the best economists in the country." - Barak Obama

Thomas Sowell, Stanford Economist

I have a dream that one day, over in Washington, with its vicious liberals, with its president having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification; one day right there in Washington, black economists will be able to join hands with white economists as both constituting "best" economists.

Failure to recognize Sowell is evidence of this country's racism. As Pike would say, I blame global warming and Bush; but mostly Bush.

  1. Barack Obama's notion of a great economist, when it comes down to it, is Saul Alinsky.

I, like many, see glimmers of common-sense and intelligence in Obama, but I suspect the foundation of that river bed that got him to where he is - is what it is, and will manifest no matter what.

  2. Barack Obama is currently getting slated throughout the English press for his protectionism. So maybe the honeymoon's over. Plus, since Obama has made such a mess of the stimulus, when the economy does recover he's hopefully not going to be given credit for it.

  3. "Often, what they say makes no sense because what they claim to be doing is not what they are actually doing.'

Ain't that the truth. Thanks for another good post.

  4. Paul, your post made me laugh out loud... Thomas Sowell is my favorite living economist. Walter Williams is number 2. I share your dream about these two brilliant black economists.

All of you Christians, listen to Paul. Go and read yourself some Thomas Sowell, you will NOT be disappointed. He has a nice column that he writes at townhall.com.

By the way, I just put up a new post analyzing Obama's health care plan, and socialized medicine in general:

  5. Well,
Not reading anything current and keeping my head in the sand...I had no idea who Thomas Sowell was...

I read some things at the link you provided and I heartily agree...why are we not asking this guy his advice?

  6. read his book The Vision of the Anointed and see why liberals wouldn't want to take his advice

here's a trascript of an interview with him about the book
