Abortion regrets

  1. It's worth mentioning something most abortionists won't tell women: there are many good studies which indicate that women who have had an abortion have an increased risk in future pregnancies in terms of delivering prematurely, bearing low birth weight babies, and/or suffering spontaneous abortions than women who have carried their pregnancy to term. Premature and low birth weight babies can have health issues that babies born at term do not.

Also, women who have had previous abortions have an increased risk of retained placenta which comes with its own health risks.

Interestingly, a meta-analysis in China - which of course has had a history of high rates of abortion - concluded: "IA [induced abortion] is significantly associated with an increased risk of breast cancer among Chinese females, and the risk of breast cancer increases as the number of IA increases."

In fairness, critics allege these studies suffer from recall bias and don't adjust for other risk factors for adverse pregnancy outcomes (e.g. smoking, STIs). However, that's debatable. And, though ideally a study should be as unbiased as possible, one needs to factor in the political and sociocultural climate in Western nations like the United States, Canada, and Europe when considering studies on abortion.

  2. the risks of abortion are understated. abortion can injure the cervix or scar the uterus...terrible stuff that makes women infertile. it's a kind of justice for aborting women to get this consequence, however, the same procedure is used on women to clear a miscarriage.
