  1. Why would any Christian think its okay to send their children to a government (aka public) school?

    1. Well not all of us have time to homeschool or have the money to send kids to private school. We may if the government did not collect taxes.

    2. What makes you think that you are safe in a private school or as a homeschooling Parent? Sooner or later, they will come for the private schools and the homeschoolers as well. My money is on the fact that this will happen much sooner than people think.

    3. From my experience, people who say they don't have enough money to homeschool or private school haven't really looked into the matter very seriously or else they really just aren't willing to pay the money they could otherwise afford to homeschool or private school their kid. I know a single person who makes about 20-25k a year and can easily afford a homeschooling program that is already organized and structured (leaving the single parent with not much work to do themselves). In prior years they've managed to send their kid to a private school with financial aid programs available to most people who have a low income. There are financial aid programs like Step Up for Students, for example.

Heck, even some states have a *free* online public homeschool program (which is better than just sending your kid to public school where you are largely ignorant about the daily curriculum and where you don't have the opportunity to provide a counter-point to objectionable material).

The "we don't have time or money" line is for all but the poorest of the poor a canard.

    4. My issue isn't time or money but my business. I'm out of town 3 months out of the year and I'm divorced (unfortunately). I have my sons every other week, and I have contemplated becoming a private school teacher, but it would be a pay cut of about 35,000 dollars. Not sure I can swing that with the amount of child support I pay.
