Duplantis: Exegete Par Excellence

  1. Well, if that don't inspire you to tell the Truth in darkness, maybe it's because you are dead?

What's there is here in these verses:

Rom 1:21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Rom 1:22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

  2. Thanks, Alan.

I learned at least two important lessons about exegesis which I hope will help me if I ever get the chance to enroll in biblical and theological studies.

    1. The truth of a statement is directly dependent on how loudly one yells (as measured in decibels).

    2. If in doubt, use a visual. I know I wouldn't have understood the Hebrew concept behind the plain-sounding English word "brought" had Duplantis not moved the podium in the fashion he did to elucidate and explain it.

  3. I didn't know this guy was even still around ... sigh. I had hoped he'd retired or something.

Patrick, some good points but now I can't help but realize that what you described about Duplantis can sometimes be said about another famous pastor with a last name that ends in D who shouts and uses visuals. I'll take him over Duplantis if I have to, though. :)

  4. And God said, "let us bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so."

This is the beginning of the 6th day. The 5th day God may the living creatures in the water, the whales, fowls, fish, etc.

This guy is a nut-case. But he's a popular nut-case. And if you speak out and say he is a fool, then his followers will say they have seen many souls give their lives to Jesus. And other Christians will call you "holier than thou" for judging him.
And I'm not kiddin'. Amazing how tolerant the Church has become in it's shallowness and vastness. It saddens me. It also makes me angry. And I need to watch myself, so that my flesh doesn't think I'm better than this crackpot.

have a great Lord's day my brother! may His presence this Sunday be full of joy, peace and love, as you commune with other believers, and worship our Father in Spirit and truth. Amen.

  5. "I've been to heaven and back" noted Biblical scholar, exegete, and expository genius Jesse Duplantis will join other Magisterial Christian giants of the faith on October 30th, 2011 during the 30th anniversary "Night to Honor Israel" at John Hagee's Cornerstone Church in San Antonio (** a non-conversionary event **).

Renowned and respected teachers of God's Word such as Dr. Creflo Dollar will be on hand to open up the riches of the Holy Scriptures for Christ's flock.

Join Drs. Hagee, Dollar and Mr. Duplantis for a serious, sober, and reflective evening fully immersed in sound, Biblical doctrine and powerful Christ-centered truths mined from their combined years of faithfully toiling in God's Holy Word.

That or prepare yourself for a heresy-palooza of truly Biblical proportions...

    In Christ,
    CD

  8. What an abomination. What blasphemy to suggest that God is not omnicient. So much for Theology Proper. The Little Gods Doctrine of the heretical Word of Faith Movement is played out clearly here by this whack-job. The only speaking spirit there may be one of Satan's demons indwelling Mr. Duplicitous.

  9. This is the same man who told Benny Hinn that one day in prayer he realized that God was hurting and he needed to minister to Him becaUSE God was having a hard time.

  10. Dear Donsands,

We are all frustrated, especially seeing these false teachers crop up one right after another. And, I believe if we didn't have the strong feelings we do against such heresy, the question would be, "Are WE dead?"

I believe in righteous anger, so let's keep taking it to the Lord in prayer.

"These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren (Pro 6:16-19)."

    God bless you,
    Mary

  11. I've heard the same thing that donsands has said, if someone criticizes Jesse they will reply with how he goes all over the world to "preach the gospel."

It really shows how undiscerning people are regarding what they hear, mainly because they have consistently heard Scripture taken out of context. But when it comes from a popular preacher/evangelist, then there is no reason to question the soundness of his teaching.

Jesse is popular at a church in New Milford, CT and he is invited every year to speak. One time I read someone's promotion of the night he was speaking that "you'll laugh a lot" if you come to the church to hear him.

Sadly, some of my friends still go there and went to hear him too.

  12. Thank you Mary for the word, and for the Bible verse. I needed that.
