Katholicism

JasonPratt

I've occasionally played with the idea of calling myself a "katholic" (which is Greek for universalist, more or less), in verbal conversation with other Protestants. But that would be even more confusing.

katholic

A man/woman who claims to be a Catholic but supports abortion or gay marriage.

  1. Well, I didn't write that slang. From the one brief usage example, it looks like the title is foisted on those people by their opponents, too. (I'm pretty sure Kerry considers himself Roman Catholic and would like for the RCC to recognize him as such instead of excommunicating him.)

Still, kind of amusing. Utterly different from the reason for why I refer to universalism sometimes as "kath" (as an abbreviation), but still kind of amusing.
