For the record, I am not posting this to say we should not support Israel's right to exist. Rather, I'm posting this, because I question those fellow evangelicals (viz. dispensationalists) that seem to believe that a people under a covenant that is no longer in effect, who, except for an elect remnant have been cut off as covenant breakers, are the actual owners of the Holy Land, when the promises belong specifically to elect Israel, not ethnic Israel. Covenant breakers and apostates are to be put off that land, and the land promises in the OT, per Romans 4:13 are understood in the New Covenant era as typological shadows pointing to the whole world being the inheritance of the covenant community.
