I haven't seen this series The Chosen so I can't vouch for it. It's supposed to be about Jesus' life "through the eyes of those who met him". The first episode (eight total) is available for free via the film's YouTube channel (below). I just thought I'd mention it in case anyone is interested. If anyone has watched it, please feel free to leave your thoughts.
My wife and I like it. The eighth installment will be live streamed on VidAngel at 8pm Central tonight. Most of the other seven are available on YouTube, last I checked.
ReplyDeleteVery good series. My wife and I have just recently finished the first season and we both loved it, and I tend to be very hard on Christian productions. Plenty of nits to pick for those inclined to do so, but I think overall it's extremely well made (especially for being a crowd funded project) and obviously cares about being faithful to the source material, while taking artistic liberty to create well rounded characters and subplots that give a plausible backdrop to the events of the gospels (really the first few chapters of the gospels so far). The acting is quite good. Overall one of the more uplifting things I've seen recently.
ReplyDeleteThank you, guys! :) I started watching the first episode late last night, but I fell asleep about halfway through it as I was so exhausted and not because I lost interest, but I really like it a lot so far. It's really interesting to see how they fill in the gaps not mentioned in the NT about on Matthew the tax collector, Nicodemus, Mary of Magdalene, Simon Peter and Andrew, etc. I agree the production value and acting and so on is really solid. I didn't know the rest of the series is available so I'm definitely going to keep watching! Thanks, guys. :)
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I watch all eight episodes last night. Very good. Starts off a little slow but soon you will be pulled into the drama. Great start to what I hope is a long series to come.
