  1. Do you think the Holy Spirit indwelt believers in the Old Testament(before Acts 2 mainly)?

  2. I noticed that Joe Carter posted something on TGC:

    https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/the-faqs-what-you-should-know-about-mass-shootings/

I know you're not Carter but I can't seem to contact him on FB. I notice that the article says in one place:

"Do gun control policies increase or decrease mass shootings?
The Rand Corporation conducted a systematic review of seven broad classes of gun policies that have been implemented in some states (background checks; bans on sale of assault weapons and high capacity magazines; child-access prevention laws; concealed-carry laws; licensing and permitting requirements; minimum age requirements; and waiting periods) and the effects of those policies on mass shootings.

They found no qualifying studies showing that any of the policies either increased or decreased the prevalence of mass shootings."

    But then:

"Why are there more mass shootings in America than in other countries?
America is no more divided than Afghanistan, nor do we have a higher rate of mentally ill people than Australia. What makes our nation distinctive is our access to firearms. Although we make up less than 5 percent of the global population, we own approximately 46 percent of the world’s guns...The sheer number of guns in the United States makes it nearly impossible to prevent someone willing to die to commit mass murder from obtaining a firearm."

This seems like a bit of a contradiction to me. Is access to guns a problem or not? Maybe, though, the takeaway is that guns in the US are ubiquitous but gun laws are lame and ineffective and do nothing to reduce the gun pool. However, such a conclusion, I think, would just motivate the left to move for outright confiscation (of course, they need little excuse for this anyways). Am I missing something?

    1. There's also the question of why mass shootings have increased in the past 50 years when there's no greater access to guns.

    2. That's a good point; conservatives and libertarians have been pinning this on the rise of fatherlessness, which makes sense to me.
