I think James White taught a series several years back at MacArthur's church at the invitation of Phil Johnson that staked out a convincing position describing Islam as a Judeo-Christian cult.
Someone in another thread, maybe steve, made mention of the parallels between Joseph Smith, Jr. and Muhammed, which in fact are rather striking.
I read a pretty well done blog post a few years back that placed JSJ and M side by side with respect to their background and teaching (insofar as they're known given the murkiness of M), and when viewed in this light one wonders at the many similarities between the men and their movements.
