Hmmm. I think you need to be careful with this. People may think you share the same western conceit against God's laws in the Old Testament. Laws like.... the stoning of adulterers, the death penalty for those who engage in sodomy etc. And there are many Christian churches in parts of the world where men and women sit on separate sides, and historically there is a good case it was like this in the early church.
Personally, I don't think Christians should be throwing the 'extremist' stone around and feeding that zeitgeist. The fact of the matter is that orthodox Christian beliefs are considered extremist today to an increasing degree.
You really need to re-examine Christian orthodoxy and learn more about Islam yourself. And I'm not aware of any church, eastern or otherwise that actually has segregation in this day and age.

The page isn't loading for me, but looking over Henry's post again, perhaps I misunderstood his general point. Nevertheless, Mosaic law "issues" aside, we all know that Christian and Muslim doctrines are a world apart on so many issues (beyond the trinity and deity of Jesus etc) that any perceived "extremism" from each side is not even comparable. But that's pointing out the obvious I suppose.
All "normal" Muslims believe the same things that the extremists believe!

Thanks, SG. Makes sense.
DeleteWhat's the definition of a 'moderate Muslim'? He only wants to kill the Jews...
