  1. I once was a fetus, a reason for mirth,
Yet aborted by "Choice", and prevented from birth,
I could have been adopted, a home could have found,
But the laws didn't change, 'cause the voters let me down.

That's my quickly written satire using the 3rd stanza of the well known hymn "A Child of the King"

I once was an outcast stranger on earth,
A sinner by choice, an alien by birth,
But I’ve been adopted, my name’s written down,
An heir to a mansion, a robe and a crown.

  2. I hesitated to post the refrain because I thought it was over the top and too partisan, but then I realized that President Obama's stance on abortion is really extreme (even for many Democrats). So, here it is.

    I'm a child "Never Been",
    A child "Never Been":
    With Obama as President,
    I'm a child "Never Been".

    Original:

I’m a child of the King,
    A child of the King:
    With Jesus my Savior,
I’m a child of the King.

  3. The lyrics seemed to write themselves, so I'm wondering if this is a case of cryptomnesia and unintended plagiarism. Anyway, I am registered to vote, and will do so (deo volente).
