A Word of Wisdom for My SBC Brothers and Sisters
On June 1, Wade Burleson will be posting his decision about whether or not to name names, places, events, and the sordid details about the situation at the IMB for all the world to see. He may not choose to do this, but many, including myself believe he may. This note is to encourage, no admonish, my SBC brethren in particular to please read what he says carefully and to think before you respond, particularly if he does this. If he posts in multiple parts, may I suggest that "If a man gives and answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame." (Prov. 18:13). Let those who criticize him and run him down do so, particularly the famous "Anonymous." (Anonymous sure gets around the Baptist blogs a lot does s/he?) Such persons will hang themselves eventually. Let what he says settle, and if it angers you, whichever "side" you take, calm down and then respond. If it angers you enough, come to Greensboro to the SBC, vote your conscience, and take an interest in your Convention.

ReplyDeleteWe Southern Baptists need all the good advice (wisdom) and prayers we can get in preparation for the serious (and silly) events to occur in a few days in your city and state.
