How to lose by winning

John W. Loftus said:

I said That former book is not as thorough or comprehensive in comparison to this new one.

So, if David thought it was comprehensive back then, what do you think he'd say now? I'm saying the case I make in my new book is overwhelmingly better.

Again, are you going to read it and critique it for yourself? Hey, I dare you! I bet you think you're that smart, don't ya, or that your faith is that strong--that you can read something like my book and not have it affect your faith.

If Christianity is true, then you have nothing to fear. But if Christianity is false, then you owe it to yourself to get the book. Either way you win.

And even if you blast my book after reading it here on this Blog, I'll know that you read it, and just like poison takes time to work, all I have to do from then on is to wait for a personal crisis to kill your faith.

Want to give it a go? The way I see you reason here makes me think it'll make your head spin with so many unanswerable questions that you won't know what to do.

But that's just me. I couldn't answer these questions, so if you can, you're a smarter man than I am, and that could well be. Are you? I think not, but that's just me.

Hey, if you want to email me your MS, go right ahead. I'll keep a loaded revolver by my bed to shoot myself before the effect of the poison becomes unbearable.

You're kinda funny. Not too bad, I'll add.

So, you'd rather die than be an atheist, eh?

I NEVER KNEW I HAD A CHOICE.

LAST TIME I CHECKED, UNBELIEVERS WERE DYING AT THE SAME RATE AS BELIEVERS.

But what if Christianity is false? Are you unwilling to consider this? Why?

WHY?

1.BECAUSE I DON’T SUFFER FROM ANY INTELLECTUAL DOUBTS ABOUT THE FAITH.

WHY SHOULD I PRETEND TO DOUBT SOMETHING I DON’T FIND DOUBTFUL?

WHY SHOULD I AFFECT A STATE OF UNCERTAINTY THAT DOESN’T CORRESPOND TO MY MENTAL STATE?

2.I’VE GONE OUT OF MY WAY TO READ THE OTHER SIDE. I KNOW ALL THE OPPOSING ARGUMENTS.

Oh, and for the record, you haven't done me any favors, so you'll have to buy the book.

OH, AND FOR THE RECORD, YOU HAVEN’T DONE ME ANY FAVORS, SO YOU’LL HAVE TO MAKE A DONATION TO TRIABLOGUE IF YOU WANT ME TO READ YOUR BOOK.

DR. ANDERSON CAN SET UP A PAYPAL ACCOUNT FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE.

  1. Dr, James Anderson I presume?

But I am donating to this Blog, every time I write something for you, since I'm not charging you anything for this kind service of mine. I'm teaching you for free!

Maybe I should charge you though, in terms of pearls owed, rather than casting them at your feet for free, since you merely trample them under your feet.

BECAUSE I DON’T SUFFER FROM ANY INTELLECTUAL DOUBTS ABOUT THE FAITH.

Hmmmm. You need a basic philosophy class. There is nothing which we humans believe that isn't subjet to some intellectual doubt.

I’VE GONE OUT OF MY WAY TO READ THE OTHER SIDE. I KNOW ALL THE OPPOSING ARGUMENTS.

Then you must have some higher degrees to show this. Where did you do post-doctoral studies at?

I don't even know all of the objections against your faith. You must be very very knowledgeable. You are so way above me, aren't ya? Dr. Anderson must be very pleased to have such an able defender of his faith here. Kudos to him. Such brilliance! Such wit! Such blind faith!

I'm having some fun and taunting you, by the way, in case you can't understand the things of the natural man because you have the Spirit and cannot understand those things.

Then you must have some higher degrees to show this. Where did you do post-doctoral studies at? - To be honest, it was all I could do to keep from laughing at the "big guns" in phil religion classes like the problem of evil, problem of miracles, etc., or in reli classes the history of Biblical criticism. A fortiori, I have a defeater grounded in post-doctoral studies for any less-prominent arguments because the whole post-doctoral community recognizes them to be less cogent.

That is true. It was so hard to come up with original content before, but ever since Loftus came on the scene, we've never had it so easy to come up with blog posts! Thanks, John.
