Hmmm ... And yet... another interesting thought came to mind, so I came back here.
I got the idea of prayer having the longest reach from boxing - how much reach does Ali have vs. Frazier.
And the thought was that I could pray for someone in Singapore right now from here in B'More, MD. Heck, if someone were sent to the moon, I could pray for them, right at that instant. Prayer can reach the moon even before the astronaut lands, because its got reach.
The point: Every time we look at the sun, we see it as it was ~ 8 minutes ago (aft-knowledge?). So when Joshua told the sun to stand still, and it happened right before his eyes, well... then it actually happened 8 minutes before he said it. This is a case of backward causation.
It is impossible to overstate the profundity and importance of this point.
ReplyDeleteI used to think of it in a somewhat different way:
ReplyDeletePrayer has the longest reach.

Prayer's got reach and that even into the past.
