I do think Carson is slowly learning how politics work. Say something the wrong way, even if it's right, and polarized parties will bury you - and are happy to do it.
In this case, people (liberals) seem to want to use the "bigot" card, which it seems to me, is their way of saying they're better than the one they're judging. It sort of puts them in a higher place in their own mind.
