Wow, what a challenging article. Does God really speak to us today, aside from the bible, like with that woman? If so, how so? I read Job 33, and it said something about through dreams and visions.
Also, extra question. I see it quite a lot through out the OT, this strange literary technique, where the writer will say something like "there are three things that God hates, four that the most High despises" or like "For God speaks in one way, and in two, though man does not perceive it."
What's up with that? What does it mean? What is the effect?
That story reminds me of R.C. Sproul's own testimony of receiving a phone call in the middle of the night and apparently receiving a "word of wisdom" or "word of knowledge" or a "prophecy" in his early ministry. He recounts his experience in the first lecture that can be listened to HERE.
FYI, many of Steve's recent blogs on the cessationist/noncessationist debate have been collected HERE.
Steve, is there a way I can email you or contact you in private? There is some information that I want to share with you.

I've done many posts on the cessationist/noncessationist debate.

Reading the comments on that post reminded me how dumb the average atheist is.
