  1. Hopefully the previous comment was tongue in cheek because if not then he is one of the reasons that we are a society of cowards

  2. I think I've heard that guy before and he certainly seems to have the "grouchy atheist" schtick downpat. He started one of his videos with "So I was out in the garden today *not believing in God*..."

  3. There's no telling who CR is, but I think it's tongue in cheek. I picked this up for a couple of reasons: I trust Bnonn; I liked what the man had to say in this particular video, as something that's illustrative of a thing that I posted a couple of weeks ago:

I've been having an off-line discussion (parallel to the one Steve's been having online) with a guy who's at the fairly "progressive" end of the scale, and it seems clear to me that for him and folks like him, "the agenda" (whatever the source of it -- and some of it stems from grievances that may have had some legitimacy way back) is more important than actually understanding the truth of things. It's more important that a thing support "the agenda" (even if it's not true) than that something reported be true, while potentially harming "the agenda".

I do think that we need to be more consistent in expressing the truth of things, whatever those things are -- the "progressive" side has kind of a greased method for reaching those who don't stay engaged -- there is a "secular ethic" -- I don't pay much attention to Obama, but he seems to talk a lot about "American Values" which now are shaped by various progressive agendas -- and people, not paying attention (likely because their lives are busy) and kids in public schools, naturally don't want to be "bad people", and so they thoughtlessly and uncritically accept these "American Values". In such a way, they've become broadly entrenched among people who would not ordinarily tend to accept those "values" (i.e., Christians who ought to know better).

That just sounds to me like it goes back to Marx, "It's more important to change the world than understand it." And yet liberals dislike being labelled as socialists!
