There is certainly some deep theology here, but I agree with Israel has rejected the Gospel, and Gentiles are being quickened for the most part, with some Jews, such as Jews for Jesus. And there will be a day when the Church as we see it will be as Israel was when Jesus came to her, she hated Him. And so Israel will once again embrace their Messiah.
I know this is said awkwardly, and not as Tom Wright would say it, but I think it is a simple truth here, isn't it?
