Making God the copilot of sin

“I was a youth pastor when 9/11 hit. Many of the kids wanted to know how to react to the situation as far as God was concerned. The first thing I let them know was that this did not take God by surprise. He is in control. The second thing I told them was that God is not in the business of throwing planes into buildings, so don't think of the event in that manner.”

So, according to classical Arminianism, God is in the business of controlling fanatical pilots who crash planes into buildings.

Thankfully, Arminianism doesn’t make God the author of sin. Instead, it makes him the copilot of sin.

And that makes all the difference…I guess.

  1. So all Arminianism as a whole is inconsistent because William is (supposedly) inconsistent in this one instance?

  2. Did you hear about the arminian who fell down a flight of stairs? He looked skyward and said "God why did this happen?!" A calvinist fell down that same flight of stairs and said "well God I'm glad that's over!"

If you want to throw Bill under the bus, that's fine with me.

  4. I wasn't throwing him under the bus. That's why supposedly was in parentheses. I was pointing out the fallacy you throw around all the time.

Billy wasn't inconsistent. I was playing the devil's advocate.
