The Evolutionary Cop-out

The Evolutionary Cop-out

  1. Right. Evolutionary biology is a "science-stopper". The research programs which churn out thousands of research articles on evolution in journals like Nature and Science (see here and here for 1,253 examples in Science and more in Nature) are just spinning their wheels.

What knowledge has IDiocy conferred? None. What argument does this article you linked to present? None.

It says, "How in the world could you turn a jellyfish into a trilobyte?!?!?!"

Classic, ridiculously, beautifully illustrative argumentum ad ignorantium. And you link to this as if it is worth reading.

All it attempts to do is discredit evolution, playing on the typical false dichotomy: "If I can show you wrong, then I prove myself right!" Not that it even remotely accomplishes the former by saying, "Golly gee, I sure can't conceive of an evolutionary explanation...hyuck hyuck hyuck!"

If you want to disbelieve in the evidence for evolution, it's your right to stay ignorant. But why pretend this is even some semblance of a case for creationism?

Which beautifully misses the point, since appealing to evolutionary theory is a classic argumentum ad ignorantium.
