Double trouble

  1. All of Bnonn's posts in this series are worth reading. They're generally succinct and easy to digest.

I've used the OT Israel contra the other nations argument with several freewill theists with whom I regularly interact (Arminian credobaptists) and have received rejoinders ranging from possible theophanies in other cultures that are unrecorded, to offers of postmortem salvation, to claims of universalism after the damned spend some amount of time in hell (sort of a purgatory-esque concept).

Is it really better and simpler to resort to this sort of scripturally unsupported argumentation than to simply submit to the teaching of the Bible?
