Dunkirk: “English fathers, sailing to rescue England’s exhausted, bleeding sons.”

  1. An Annihilationist presented this argument to me and I know you are more familiar with their arguments. So, I'd like to get your thoughts about this.
    In Luke 20:36, Jesus said
"for they cannot die anymore, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection."

The reason seems to be that they cannot die because they are sons of God. That is the opposite is for the non elect. They can die because they aren't sons of God.

    1. i) Death is only equivalent to oblivion given physicalism. Some annihilationists are dualists.

ii) Scripture teaches a general resurrection as well as a resurrection of the just.

iii) In my experience, annihilationists typically believe in a general resurrection of the righteous and wicked alike–after which the wicked are annihilated.
