Punishment for abortion

As of Saturday night, just hours after the confirmation vote, Brett Kavanaugh has been sworn in as a Justice of the Supreme Court. It's not clear yet that he would vote to overturn Roe vs Wade (and turn the decision about abortion laws over to the states), but we can be certain that there will be howling about punishment for abortion, back-alley coat hanger abortions, etc.

There won't likely be any jail time at all for having an abortion, anywhere, but one thing we should do is to spread the word that for each person who procures an abortion, the thought that "I killed a living, growing human child for my own convenience" should be impressed upon them as a kind of life sentence. If any punishment is to be imposed, each person who participates in getting an abortion should at least live with that thought.

  1. Only a man would proffer something as insulting, callous and judgmental as this.

Many women who've undergone abortions already suffer psychological and emotional trauma for a long time afterwards. That's not enough for you; you want to make them suffer for the rest of their lives.

    Misogynistic tripe!

    1. Seriously Neil, knowledge of this sin will lead to repentance and forgiveness. But I primarily had in mind those who get abortions for convenience (i.e., those on the left). In fact, I married a woman who had had several abortions, and she did live with the knowledge that she “killed a living growing child”, and it enabled her to put her life into perspective vis-a-vis the forgiveness of Christ. So, I don’t want someone to “suffer all their lives”, but to gain from that knowledge.

Anyone who would call me a misogynist must really begin with the desire to start calling names.

"Only a man would proffer something as insulting, callous and judgmental as this."

Ironically, you're a man who is "insulting" and "judgmental" in your very comment here.

"Many women who've undergone abortions already suffer psychological and emotional trauma for a long time afterwards. That's not enough for you; you want to make them suffer for the rest of their lives."

Suppose elective abortion is murdering a child. Suppose a woman in her right mind knows this. Suppose she still goes ahead and has an elective abortion. If so, then why shouldn't such a woman feel guilty?

    3. Is Neil suggesting there's a double standard for men and women. Women are so emotionally and psychologically fragile that they can't be judged by the same standard as men? How sexist and paternalistic!

    4. Presumably Neil doesn't think abortion is wrong, so he doesn't think women who choose to abort their babies ought to suffer psychological and emotional trauma.

    6. Why in the world would you think these women 'suffer psychological and emotional trauma for a long time afterwards', Neil? And how long is 'a long time' in these 'many' cases? Do these 'many' women you speak of experience the same type of psychological and emotional trauma? Whence does this trauma find its root? And why are they so traumatised for such a long time afterwards?

    7. We need to put our thinking caps on again:

'Only a man would proffer something as insulting, callous and judgmental as this.'

      1. With polls consistently showing that just under half of women in America hold to a pro-life/anti-abortion stance (with an absolutist/extreme case split - those who allow for extreme case abortions regularly polling between 5-7 points higher than the absolutists), it is absurd to suggest that only a man would take the position that Bugay is taking.

      2. On (1), a growing number of women are beginning to see through neo-feminist garbage. They understand that abortion is anything but 'empowering' for women. They also understand the science of embryology.

I've seen some fierce, no-nonsense stances from pro-life women that would probably make you wet your undies!

      3. To say that Bugay's position is 'insultung, callous and judgmental' begs the question entirely. If abortion is the murder/taking of a human life, then it would be insulting and callous *not* to take such a position. Who else will speak for that innocent, wasted life? And yes, on that basis it is entirely appropriate to be judgemental.

So you'll need to present an argument to the contrary instead of begging the question.

      'Misogynistic tripe!'

      1. Obviously not!

      2. I'm reminded of those apparently self-loathing white males who spit venom at other white males for daring to have an opinion on 'race' issues, all the while expressing their opinions on 'race' issues, revealing that opinions from white males are okay as long as those opinions are of the sucking-up variety that play along to the narrative.

  2. Neil, the reality is that the pro-abortion industry is working very hard to eradicate any natural sense of guilt and anguish over this procedure that many women do experience. And why not? These ghouls make a lucrative living doing this. A sense of regret would be inconvenient.

I’m sympathetic to women in these situations, but less so towards those who profit off of it.

  3. Mr. Bugay, we agree - entirely - on this subject. Kudos.
