Godless Or More Godless?

Baker books is set to publish a debate between two apostates (John Loftus, Randal Rauser). I haven't read the book yet (which is due out next April), but to judge by the two participants, it's a choice between lesser godlessness and greater godlessness.

  1. As usual, Steve started the day sucking on lemons when the rest of us were drinking lemon-aid. In Steve's world degree of godlessness = degree that one disagrees with Steve.

Be that as it may, the book doesn't come out until next April.

  2. No, degrees of godlessness equate with defaming the God of the Bible. Something both Rauser and Loftus do on a regular basis. Indeed, if you switched their names, you often couldn't tell the difference.

  3. It's worth noting that lemons have all the nutrition, whereas lemonaid has all the sugar :)

  4. Actually Mathetes, freshly squeezed lemon-aid has the nutrition of lemons but has diluted the acid that would otherwise wreak havoc on one's dentition. That's why Steve can't smile. His teeth are decayed from sucking on all those lemons.

    1. Actually, I wasn't really thinking of the acid content. My understanding is that with fruits like lemons or oranges, the pulp is where most of the nutrients are. When such fruit is squeezed, all you wind up with is sugary liquid. At least, that's the way I understand it.

  5. So why is Rauser in such a sour mood about my post?

    1. Poor Steve. You sound permanently constipated. I bet if you tried Metamucil you'd become a jovial Arminian overnight.

  6. Wouldn't you be too if your lemons were found wanting?

  7. A useful exercise might be to pull quotes from the book and do a "Who said it: Randal or John?" quiz. Could prove to be quite challenging.

  8. Lemon-aid? Doesn't look right to me.

  9. I'd like to say how unbalanced the Church is in our day with what always seems like we need to be "positive". My local "Christian" pop-CCM radio station calls itself: "The Positive Music Station".
They never want to hear anything negative: Never.

I tried to tell them Philips, Craig, & Dean are heretics, and sure it's okay if you play a lot of their music, but why not let the listeners know these three persons are Modalists, like TD Jakes.
But, I'm the one who is causing trouble, and "poking", and so on.

I appreciate Steve bringing these things to the forefront. There are many, many, and many false teachers within our ranks today, and "toleration" is the spirit of our age. Sad.
We need to be bold and speak the truth with meekness and love.

    Have a blessed Independence day!

  10. Steve is exactly right on this one.

And I will go further...I bet that when we see the book, we will see that Rauser "pulled his punches". He is cowtowing to Loftus for "some reason".
