Are Muslims reliable?

Muslims aren't reliable. Even if an individual Muslim is trustworthy, you don't know that he's trustworthy in a pinch. You don't know until it's too late whether or not he can be trusted. Will he watch my back or will he shoot me in the back?

Of course, what I said sins against political correctness. However, this isn’t just hypothetical. There are real world examples of what I mean. To cite a few instances:

i) Pakistan gave safe haven to bin Laden.

Pakistan also abetted the recent attacks against American and NATO assets in Afghanistan.

This is despite the fact that Pakistan is technically a military ally of the US, receiving billions in foreign aid.

ii) In the Fort Dix plot, Muslim-American soldiers conspired to murder their comrades.

iii) Muslim-American soldier Hasan Akbar murdered two of his comrades.

iv) Muslim-American soldier Jason Abdo is a coconspirator in the Fort Hood massacre.

v) Muslim-American soldier Malik Hasan perpetrated the Ford Hood massacre.

  3. Harry,

That's an argument from analogy minus the analogy. "Muslim" is a religious designation. "Jew" is not. So your attempted comparison disregards the ideological motivation implicit in the "Muslim" designation.

Of course, there will always be self-hating Jews of the Noam Chomsky variety who play into the hands of their sworn enemies.

  4. Are Muslims reliable?

Your i-v are duly noted. But why not mention the 100 Imam statement opposing wars and comdemning terrorism? Or perhaps highlight the recent statement released by the Muslim Canadian Congress: http://www.muslimcanadiancongress.org/20110911.html

So I would think the only fair answer is: it all depends on which Muslims you are talking about.

  5. Did the Canadian Muslims also condemn the persecution of Mark Steyn?

Of course, one quick and easy test of how moderate a "moderate" Muslim is is to mention the word "Jew," or "Israel," and watch his react.

And you only learn the answer the hard way.

  7. Not to mention Taqiyya, particularly among the Shia.
