I'm an Anglican in Sydney and used to be a synod member. At church on Sunday, our minister made an announcement about the forthcoming synod: asked for prayer and cautioned about probable misreporting in the media.
Anyway, this article (which I read yesterday) is likely meant to be 'shocking' to the broader readership, but I can only sit by and 100% wholeheartedly agree with what Dr Davies. If you are not on board with scriptural authority (which is not broadly a problem in Sydney, but is a problem in many places elsewhere within Australia), go and do your own thing.
