In addition, after Zuckerberg's Congressional hearings, it became painfully obvious how out of touch the vast majority of our lawmakers are with technology. I suspect their technological illiteracy is a large reason why they're unable or unwilling to help protect our privacy rights online, nor seriously rein in companies like Facebook or Google.
