Is every promise fulfilled in Christ?

  1. I think all the promises have, in principle, been fulfilled in Christ (2 Cor. 1:20). Their ultimate fulfillment is yet to come.

Regarding the land promises to Israel, I'm reminded of what someone said. I forgot who (Gary DeMar?). He said something like, if God promised to give you a Ferrari, and instead ended up giving you a Ferrari Dealership, did God fulfill His promise? In one sense "no", yet in another sense "yes, and then some". Israel was promised the Promised Land, but instead was given the whole world. When Gentiles believe they are included into the commonwealth of Israel (Eph. 2:12-13).

12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.- Eph. 2:12-13 ESV

Also, it's been argued by some Covenant theologians that the land promises (in their literal meaning) were fulfilled even during OT times.
