No room at the progressive inn

  1. It has been my argument for some time that people should put their homes where their mouth is in this debate. I don't know if there are any liberal groups going to refugee camps or other places where these people are living to minister to the people, but I do know of conservative Christians going. I even know of some going into these places to minister to the people who didn't leave. Yet these are the folks who are called bigots by the people who won't even open their homes.

  2. I suppose lefties might counter that prolife advocates don't likewise adopt more children who would otherwise be aborted. Thoughts?

    1. I don't have the time to update my figures, but I pulled together some stats a couple of years ago. At the time there were four times as many people in the US who wanted to adopt as there were babies who were aborted. Something tells me we would have no problem finding adoptive parents.

    2. 1. Of course, the two are separable issues. I mean, it may be true more prolifers could adopt more children. However, it doesn't follow from this fact alone that progressives who argue for taking in refugees therefore don't need to be consistent with their beliefs.

      2. Another issue is how progressives don't reality test their idealistic notions. Do they love their ideas more than people? Or are they willing to practice what they preach?
