Black on Asian violence in Baltimore

"Baltimore Unrest Reveals Tensions Between African-Americans And Asians"

  1. Coincidentally, this blog is posted on the eve of the fight billed as "The Fight of the Century" between Floyd Mayweather Jr. (Black African-American) and Manny Pacquiao (Filipino Asian).

As a Filipino Christian I'm rooting for Manny who is also a professing Christian. Also, along with many others, I don't like the term "African-American" because a Caucasian could be described as an "African-American." For example, a descendant of Dutch settlers in Africa who has recently immigrated to America.

For all I know the boxing match is fueling racial tensions in Baltimore. Irrational boxing fans of Floyd called "flomos" and irrational boxing fans of Manny called "pactards" mutually hate each other.

    1. If anyone is interested in the fight:

The following is one of the better interviews of Manny. When you're in a relaxed setting it's easier to speak a second language. In Manny's case, English is his THIRD language. Jalen's interviewing style brought out Manny's English speaking skills.

    2. BTW, I'm not saying all flomos are Black or that all pactards are Filipinos. But I get the impression that most flomos are Black and many pactards are Filipino.

    3. I too was rooting for Manny. I really would've loved to see him win. But, alas! :-(

Instead, it seems Floyd just did the old hug and run. It's hard to fight when Floyd is essentially either running to avoid fighting Manny, or hugging whenever Manny gets inside to fight Floyd, and then defensively punching Manny from a distance since Floyd has a longer reach. Twelve pretty boring rounds. In other words, this.

    4. Sometimes the best way to win is to avoid losing.

  2. Is it just me but it looks a like like a re-run of the LA riots? http://veritasdomain.wordpress.com/2012/04/28/los-angeles-riots-the-forgotten-side-of-racism-of-the-l-a-riots/
