Is that your feeble attempt to be clever? What's wrong with defense contractors? Are you a pacifist? Or do you just like to say any dumb thing that pops into your silly little head?
I didn't take TAM's comment as an attempt to be clever, but as a comment about the Military Industrial Complex... Military contractors whose bank accounts would get a lot lighter by a much reduced military presence overseas are probably not too keen on Ron Paul's foreign policy.
No, I'm not that bright but I get by pretty well with what little intellect I have.
Are you a pacifist?
Given that the opposite of pacifist is war-monger (aka defence contractors), I am ok with being labelled a pacifist.
I wonder how many candidates for the Republican presidential nomination are familiar with this verse?
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”says the Lord. On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:17-21
Ron Paul may have some military support but that certainly would not include defence contractors.

ReplyDeleteActually, they might sell military technology to our enemies to take up the slack.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and some of them probably do that anyway.

The Romans passage is about private vendettas, not national defense.
