Small businesses lament skills shortages

Everybody knows small businesses are the engines of "job creation" in our economy.

But the problem is not that small businesses are not creating jobs -- they just can't find enough qualified workers who can fill them. Almost a third of small businesses today are reporting that they have job openings, but no skilled applicants for them. Check out this article from the WSJ yesterday.

  2. Maybe they should train their own workers (as small businesses have done for hundreds of years) instead of just poaching people who have been trained and employed at someone else's expense and risk.
