Michael Licona And Stephen Patterson Debating The Resurrection

I just noticed that Michael Licona has posted the audio of his 2010 debate on Jesus' resurrection with Stephen Patterson, a member of the Jesus Seminar.

  1. Thanks for the links. I listened to Stephen Patterson. It amazes me what passes for intelligence these days. That was one of the stupidest things I've ever heard someone say regarding the resurrection of Christ. Foolish, foolish man. I can't see in what sense this guy thinks he's a believer. I'm stunned. I don't even know what to say.

  2. I'm listening and I'm: uh, uh, uh, uh, uh...

Paul said Jesus revealed Himself IN ME, so Paul was saying that he is Jesus?

Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God so Jesus could not have been raised physically?

Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh.........................

Heavens, what God-awful stupidity! I want to curse and swear at such lunacy! I don't know if I can even continue with this, it's so stupid.

  3. Sorry about repeating the word "stupid" over and over. I'm at a loss for words and looking for an outlet to vent my amazement. Forgive me, but this seems to be the forum for it. If I have anything of any real value and intelligence to say about this whole thing, I'll be sure to let you know, but I can't promise anything.

Well, there's no shortage of synonyms:

brainless, dense, dim, doltish, dopey, dull, dumb, foolish, half-baked, half-witted, idiotic, imbecilic, inane, insensate, mindless, moronic, nonsensical, obtuse, out to lunch, puerile, senseless, shortsighted, simpleminded, slow, sluggish, stolid, stupefied, thick-headed, unintelligent, unthinking, witless

  5. Thanks, Steve. I feel a lot better.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go prepare for Christ's return on May 21, 2011.
