Here’s the audio of my interview with MSNBC’s Martin Bashir on his interview with Emergent Universalist Rob Bell of Mars Hill Church in Grand Rapids. Martin discloses whether or not he is a committed Christian and if the blog rumors are true that he attends Tim Keller’s Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City.
Thank you for posting this! I have a question for all who see this: Do you (all) think that Universalism is "damnable" heresy? Obviously, rejection of the divinity of Christ Jesus and denial of the Trinity, etc., is damnable heresy. Would you (all) consider the issue of Universalism to be a damnable heresy? Thank you.
I think it's heretical. Whether or not it's damnable depends, in part, on how much Biblical theology any given universalist must jettison to justify his universalism. Some are more radically consistent than others.
Since Billy Birch's question was to the plural "you" I'll toss in my $0.02 too. As Steve said, any type of universalism is heresy. Whether it's damnable, there's definitely one kind that would be--the kind that says you're saved apart from faith in Jesus Christ. This is the kind of "all roads lead to the same place" type of mentality.
However, the kind of universalism that says someone in hell might be able to have post-mortem faith in Christ may not be damnable heresy, even though it is quite clearly still heresy.

Heretical, not necessarily damnable.
