Court Upholds Expulsion of Counseling Student Who Opposes Homosexuality

Here goes another example of the inconsistency of secular institutions:

Court Upholds Expulsion of Counseling Student Who Opposes Homosexuality

So why not expel university counseling students who think that pedophilia and bestiality is immoral? After all, I had several conversations with college students at UNCG that openly admitted that such practices would be moral as long as society agrees to it and legalizes it.

I don't know if she feels this right now (she, in fact, may feel regret over taking a stand that resulted in this outcome), but I think it'll be a blessing in the long run to have stood firm in the faith and be persecuted.

My wincing concern is that many Christians and Christian parents will want to "go dark" and hide their Christian light, given that secular universities and secular courts are discriminating against Christians.

  2. While I'm still forming my opinion on this story, (almost there) I feel compelled to comment on your comparison.

Paedophilia is something to which homosexuality is often compared and in a completely ludicrous fashion as you did here. This is an immoral act because there is a victim who is horribly damaged physically and emotionally. Paedophilia is a horrific type of violence visited upon those who either are unable to truly consent to such acts or can be coerced to consent at the cost of their personal security.

Bestiality is much in the same vein. While not a human being, there is indeed a victim in this type of act.

It is offensive, short sighted and myopic thinking to compare homosexuality in any way to these acts. It is absolutely unreasonable to draw the conclusion that since homosexuality may be considered acceptable in modern society, bestiality and paedophilia may be given the same kind of consideration. The issues are absolutely separate and while moral arguments can be made for any position, anyone connecting them with homosexuality is drawing a spurious connection at the very best.

  3. Zach,

Your comments emanate from a secular humanistic worldview. According to Scripture, anything other than sex within the context of marriage (and marriage is by definition heterosexual) is an abomination. This is because marriage is a physical metaphor for the spiritual reality of Christ and His Church. And the Bible does not treat one abomination as better or worse than another.
