Now, this gives the impression that I said mean and unloving things. That I made untoward comments of some kind. However, that would be far from the truth. I will now paste what I originally wrote and let the reader draw their own conclusions about the self-professed love and Christian charity expressed by Arminian epologists, Mallett being one example:

I simply posted a link to my response so thinking people could get both sides. Deleting my post and saying what you said gives the impression that I made an untoward comment.

This is but one example of the alleged Arminian's superior Christian fruit vis-a-vis the Calvinist. This is an example of what Calvinists deal with all the time. Self-serving, self-justifying, self-excepting, sola-inter-group-loving, mean and angry favoritists.

It is also interesting that Arminian epologists are not coming down on Mallett but are excusing and approving of his behavior. I recall these same epologists demanding that Triabloggers rebuke Steve Hays. However, they refuse to do what they ask of others. Their debate tactics have to be shown for what they are: Arminian epologists have, by and large, co-opted the debate tactics of the political left.

It should also be understood that Mallett is trying to protect his image by allowing only one side of the story to get out. In reality, he critiqued a post of mine and called it foolish. When it came to his attention that fellow Arminians in fact did argue in the way he called foolish, he had to backtrack. He then endorsed the interpretation he called foolish, putting my critique of interpretation back on the table as an undefeated-defeater.

  1. Hi Paul,

Join the club of those victimized by unjust blog moderators who distort the public record by deleting their interlocutor's comments while allowing their own (frequently ad hominem) comments to stand, giving the strong impression to third-party readers that the banned offender is just a nasty, unreasonable brutish troll who doesn't have the sense to stop being so rude and/or stupid.

To be fair, there are probably those who've been banned by Triablogue who feel that their comments have been unfairly deleted and that it's produced a distorted and one-sided thread conversation.

(But their comments can usually still be seen through "post" a comment.)

Anyways, I'm glad(!) to see you so disgusted. It's nice to know that someone else has also been unfairly victimized by a Christian moderator on a Christian blog.

  2. TUD,

To my knowledge, T-blogg has never banned anyone on their very first posting.

Furthermore, I actually don't care that he won't post my comments. I'm just drawing attention to the double-dealing Arminians who operate on a double-standard. They shouldn't get away with their self-righteous proclaimations about how kind and loving they are while Calvinists are mean and nasty because their theology is mean and nasty. This is the same tactic the political left uses. They are some of the most racist people out there, yet they always charge their interlocutors with racism. They are for inequality. yet that's the charge they pin on others. They are against fairness yet they claim the other side treats people unfair. They are mean and nasty hatemongers, yet that's what they claim their opponents are. I really don't see a big difference between how the political left operates and how these Arminian epologists operate.

  3. Yes, it's important to document the chronic, defiant, impenitent discrepancy between Arminian rhetoric and Arminian behavior. On the way hand they tell everybody that Arminians are more loving because the God they worship is a more loving God (than Reformed theism).

But just about every time that is put to the test, it dissolves on contact. In reality, Arminian love is very exclusive. Arminian love is very small.

They love like-minded people. People just like themselves.

They can't bring themselves to be charitable towards those they can't stand. Arminians have little hearts. Their hearts only have room for their own kind.

We see this again and again and again.

  4. I agree having met them as abruptly!

I have pondered which of the "fruits" of the flesh is being manifested and believe at least two to be these from Galatians 5:20:

    variance:ἔρις
    eris
    er'-is
Of uncertain affinity; a quarrel, that is, (by implication) wrangling: - contention, debate, strife, variance.

    seditions:διχοστασία
    dichostasia
    dee-khos-tas-ee'-ah
From a derivative of G1364 and G4714; disunion, that is, (figuratively) dissension: - division, sedition.

Without the help of the Spirit, after all it is His fruit, not ours, I would take a dive down because of their foolery.

I found myself 'reacting' and not responding to this sort of thing from Mallet and Lumpkins and others at their blogs too when they responded to my comments, until I took it to the Lord Who reminded me of my own flesh.

Now, whenever possible I will attempt to edify, even still.

Sometimes I just fail making lemonade with their lemons!
