What do you make of the argument made in the comments about how vs. 2 should read "lift up" rather than "take away"?Thank you in advance for any input.
Hi Mitch,Unfortunately, I don't know (koine) Greek, and so probably wouldn't be any more helpful than others who have already weighed in. I noticed that Bill Mounce discusses it though. Finally, I don't have a commentary in front of me right now, but maybe check out a commentary on John (e.g. Carson's, if you have access to it)? Sorry, wish I could've been more helpful.patrick
