If Christ himself was that Yahweh, then as a Christophany, He formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and made Adam in "God's Image". In which case maybe Christ made Adam to look like Himself. Maybe like twins. Christ's use of mud in healing the blind man in John 9 might allude to that event, which itself might suggest Christ's full deity. Assuming that Jesus' pre-incarnate Christophanic form looked like His post-incarnational visage, then Adam and Jesus may have looked alike. That would be in keeping with Adam being the "first man" and Christ being the "Last Adam" (1 Cor. 15:45). Of course, this is all speculation, but it's an interesting one.ANNOYED PINOYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00714774340084597206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6789188.post-42993608442113416152016-09-02T13:52:51.771-04:002016-09-02T13:52:51.771-04:00It's backwards to use a passage in John's ...It's backwards to use a passage in John's Gospel to interpret a passage in Genesis. The original audience for Genesis didn't have the Gospel of John. The imago Dei needs to be comprehensible to readers who only had the Pentateuch. stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16547070544928321788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6789188.post-82945769929286901802016-09-02T13:44:37.897-04:002016-09-02T13:44:37.897-04:00I've looked at it like this - John 4:24 tells ...I've looked at it like this - John 4:24 tells us that God is spirit, so being made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) our spirituality is the image of God rather than our outward physical appearance., but I like your point.Doug Evanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05318930961031654937noreply@blogger.com
