There are other natural events (not to mention supernatural events) which can darken the skies, such as a swarming locusts–which figure in eschatological scenes.stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16547070544928321788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6789188.post-27027533251274783852012-06-16T12:15:52.654-04:002012-06-16T12:15:52.654-04:00BTW, I should add, the fact that I've taken no...BTW, I should add, the fact that I've taken notes on Williams' lecture doesn't mean I agree with everything he says. Overall I think he did a great job. But (as I alluded to above) he's obviously better on the historical and textual stuff than he is on the philosophical stuff, for instance.Patrick Chanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16095377877712197984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6789188.post-11998152180567585672012-06-16T12:11:37.771-04:002012-06-16T12:11:37.771-04:00Thanks for your comment, Mr. Linwood Kemp.

He wasn't using it to argue for a solar eclipse, I don't think.

But please feel free to listen to or watch Williams' lecture for yourself. As I said above, my notes may be imperfect.Patrick Chanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16095377877712197984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6789188.post-56187012595597843572012-06-16T11:45:23.553-04:002012-06-16T11:45:23.553-04:00Just a cautionary note: It would be physically imp...Just a cautionary note: It would be physically impossible to have an eclipse of the sun and and eclipse of the moon on the same day or near-by days. The eclipse of the sun requires a new moon, and an eclipse of the moon requires a full moon.linwoodkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16935736782613218967noreply@blogger.com
