The Gary North School of Prognostications

I do not know what is going to trigger the end of America. It may be a nuke, a biological attack, war with Iran, a collapse of the derivative market, or something unlooked for. But something is coming. And soon. When it comes, you had better have prepared for it.

While I’m not one to make specific predictions, Edgar J. Steele warns, “something big is in the offing,”

He gives eleven warning signs:

“1. The impending and unprecedented Air Force Stand-Down ordered for this Friday, together with numerous civil defense “drills” scheduled during the coming week throughout America, not to mention war drills scheduled throughout the world.

“2. The cancelled El Al (Israeli) flight schedule for Friday through Sunday (yes, the front end of the Jewish high, holy days, but that is not the point or the cause, rest assured).

“3. The mysteriously meandering nuclear missiles that illegally flew cross-country suspended under wing on a bomber, not just as freight, which our government now claims was the result of an error (yeah, right, an error involving 5 nuclear missiles … or was that 6 and now one is missing, as some claim?).

“4. The Fed meeting scheduled for next Tuesday where discount rate cuts almost inevitably will be announced (if not sooner because of the ever-expanding mushroom cloud rising up over the collapse of America’s housing and mortgage industries).

“5. That just-released, already-proven-phony Bin Laden videotape (yes, Virginia, he died several years ago, just as then was reported upon extensively in the Arabic-language press but suppressed in the West, as so much is suppressed here).

“6. That “accidental” emergency alert triggered in Illinois this morning.

“7. Bush straining with everything he’s got to get the American public on board with his “kill Iranians for Israel” plans.

“8. Israel claims, suddenly, to have discovered nuclear installations in Syria.

“9. Oil is about to breach $80 per barrel.

“10. Dick Cheney’s “gut feeling” that America’s next terrorist attack ‘will be nuclear.’

“11. Michael Chertoff’s “gut feeling” that America ‘will soon be hit hard.’”

Just think about 10 and 11. Why would the arch neocon VP and Talmudic Homeland Security Czar think their “gut feelings” worthy of public disclosure? Believe what you will, but they are psychologically programming the goyim to go along with their already-planned response (domestic and military) when their “gut feelings” prove true.

Revelation gives the distinct impression that its prophecies are on the verge of fulfillment: It is set entirely in terms of “shortly,” “soon,” and “quickly.” I will say this much: I wouldn’t send any non-preterist interpreter of those verses out for hot sandwiches.

Looks like we wouldn't send Mike Butler out for hot sandwiches either.

  1. Don't forget Biden's ominous comment about Obama being "tested" within 6 months of his presidency.

    I think I need a drink.

So wait a minute, though, what's this about bin Laden being dead? For what reason would this administration seek to squelch that news? If anything, they'd be hyping it, no? I'm not sure I think Bush is THAT evil to where he'd deliberately suppress something like that just to keep his Operation "Infinite Justice" going.

  2. James, while what you say is right, I think the punchline of the post is the "comment ID" under point 11 where it shows the date it was made.

However, as we all grin and realize things didn't go that way last year, I am reminded that we get this sort of "prediction" from Dispensational interpreters all the time. By "all the time" I mean continuously; and I'm not talking about the fringe loon, but the acknowledged "prophecy experts" who have their own shows and sell lots of books. I have a devotee of such men at my church who has been pointing ominously at "signs" like those listed in the post for (literally) years on end. It takes a lot of stamina to keep getting amped-up for these warnings over and over.

  3. The hiss and spit campaign against MRB is getting more pathetic.

MRB points out that Steele (not himself) gives warning signs of our nation's demise.

    Okay? So What?

Oh, well that means that we shouldn't trust MRB to fetch lunch. Sure, that's exactly what I gathered.

There must be something personal against MRB. If so, those things shouldn't be splattered on a public blog.

“The hiss and spit campaign against MRB is getting more pathetic.”

You think it’s pathetic to quote Butler in his own words or reproduce material from others which he himself chose to post in support of his own position?

If you think that’s “pathetic,” then the source material is “pathetic.” Are you admitting that Butler’s prediction is “pathetic”?

“MRB points out that Steele (not himself) gives warning signs of our nation's demise.”

And Butler quotes Steele approvingly to corroborate his own prediction.

You’re acting like a stimulus-response organism that can only react to its environment. Why don’t you switch your brain on instead of emoting all over the place because I dare to exposure your idol to a bit of rational scrutiny?

    “Okay? So What?”

That Butler is not as prescient and clever as he fancies himself. That his conspiracy theories lack predictive power. That as soon as we put them to the test, they flunk the test.

“If so, those things shouldn't be splattered on a public blog.”

If you think that “splattering” Butler’s own material on a public blog is harmful to his reputation, then you’re lodging a pretty damning allegation against Butler.

  5. "Why don’t you switch your brain on instead of emoting all over the place because I dare to exposure your idol to a bit of rational scrutiny?"

That's just the thing, Steve. You haven't employed rational scrutiny. Your criticisms have lacked the substance required to be considered on target.

Indeed, it appears you are the one emoting, as you always respond, not to MRB's views, but to the ways his views affect your pc, senstiive little heart. And in conversing with me, you are nothing but a sophist.

    Here's an example:

"You think it’s pathetic to quote Butler in his own words or reproduce material from others which he himself chose to post in support of his own position?"

No, Steve, that's not pathetic to quote somone. Otherwise, I would be pathetic for quoting you. I never said that, and you know it. You are evasive, and you must know that also. Your problem is one with honesty...which bty is more a matter of church discipline than the bogus charges you throw on your brothers.

Mike's no idol of mine, an neither are you. But I appreciate much of your and his work. When I disagree, I post on your blogs. Simple.

Do you care enough about a brother to respond to him? Perhaps you can reason with him over at his site? Or then again you can just take your shots at him right here in front of your own choir, hoping that the church courts and seminary boards might get moving.

"That's just the thing, Steve. You haven't employed rational scrutiny. Your criticisms have lacked the substance required to be considered on target."

I've documented my charges. You, by contrast, issue fact-free denials. You *say* they lack substance, but you don't *show* it.

"Indeed, it appears you are the one emoting, as you always respond, not to MRB's views, but to the ways his views affect your pc, senstiive little heart."

Demonstrably false. The record will show that I've responded to his stated views. Once again, you content yourself with empty assertions.

And when you use emotive words like "hiss" and "spit" and "pathetic," it's not as if you're offering a substantive argument or counterargument. Try taking your own advice for a change.

"Do you care enough about a brother to respond to him?"

Is the Jew-hater my brother? I don't share your views on paternity.

"Perhaps you can reason with him over at his site?"

If he wants to be reasoned with he's perfectly capable of speaking for himself.

"Or then again you can just take your shots at him right here in front of your own choir, hoping that the church courts and seminary boards might get moving."

Why would that bother you? Do you distrust the official channels of a confessional Presbyterian denomination?
