(Of course, if it's a new one then I haven't--I'm thinking of something about a year ago or so.)

Jomzee: If you're going to try to insult me with your own brand of alliteration, at least do it properly. First, you made a major error in not including the "awful" as part of the alliteration in the first place (i.e., "Triablogue's awful attempts at apologetics against atheists" is already an improvement over your version). But you could have had so much more than even that if you just had a modicum of creativity:

Triablogue's awful attempts at apologetics against aporetic atheists are actually acrimonious (and altogether asinine) assertions, absent advantageous articulation, altogether absurd (albeit auspicious) aphorisms, actualizing abstruse and acroamatic amphibology as axioms, and always accommodating aberrant apothegms, as all atheists agree.

It's because of people like you, who lack the ability to even insult me properly when responding to a post that has nothing to do with atheism, that I asked atheists to respect the fact that this post is geared toward Christians.

But hey, if you want to look like an idiot I'll be happy to oblige.

Jason L.:

Romans 6 is a great passage. I was also thinking of Romans 3:5-8, since that seems to be Paul's actual addressing of the same objection.Peter Pikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11792036365040378473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6789188.post-18722794925771862072007-10-15T09:38:00.000-04:002007-10-15T09:38:00.000-04:00Romans 6. Thanks Paul! Also, "The Gospel According...Romans 6. Thanks Paul!

Also, "The Gospel According to Jesus" is a great examination of saving faith and the necessity of a regenerate heart as evidence of it.

@jomzee: While your comment was inappropriate, unnecessary and rude, I don't expect anything more. Show me an atheist that, upon receiving their "revelation" by irrefutable science, now has a pure heart, helping those around them in love, living in hope and appreciating each day.

Why you would even get up in the morning? If we are all merely sophisticated apes that came about as some sort of cosmic joke, headed ultimately to rot in the ground upon the completion of our life, why bother with participating in the social system? Why don't you walk around naked, defacating where you please and having intercourse with whom you please. What's keeping you from doing so?

I'm not positing that becoming a Christian makes you happy-go-lucky and free of all worry and trial (far from it, see Joel Osteen if you want that). I would merely like to know your motivation for participating in a social system that was invented and propagated by a faith you deny.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6789188.post-39547275583204749072007-10-15T08:28:00.000-04:002007-10-15T08:28:00.000-04:00"I’m going to start this off by noting that this p..."I’m going to start this off by noting that this post will be more for Christian edification. It’s an in-house discussion, and not intended as an apologetic against atheists (although adequately alliterated!). As such, I ask our atheist readers to respect that."

I can totally appreciate this, Peter. And for good reason: Triablogue's attempts at apologetics against atheists (alliteration notwithstanding) is awful at best. It's better to stick with something safe like this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6789188.post-3396057552681191282007-10-15T08:10:00.000-04:002007-10-15T08:10:00.000-04:00Peter,Good thoughts to reflect on.
