This this interests me (a) because I'm not sure that this was actually Luther's emphasis, and (b) Lutherans are fond of leaving things to "mystery", and it's curious that they are so adamant about this.

ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to know whether Lutherans appreciate what Rhology is pointing out to them.

Delete(a) Luther's emphasis had to be Gospel-related since he believed that the Catholic Church had distorted the Gospel.
Delete(b) IMHO, the Eastern Orthodox are the ones who are fond of leaving things to "mystery."
